What is Scripture Writing?
Scripture writing is the practice of writing out scripture in a journal, planner, or notebook. Writing out scripture is a great way to help you familiarize yourself with the word of God.
Writing our scriptures also can help you with memorizing scriptures. Scripture writing is a very simple practice that can easily be added to any devotion routine.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
Why you should start Scripture Writing?
I have been scripture writing for over a year now. It has truly been a blessing to my morning routine with Jesus. I often use scripture writing as a way to learn more about any topics of interest I have at that time.
Scripture writing a book of the Bible at the time can also be a great way to scripture write as well. Scripture writing a bible book at a time is a great way to fully comprehend the context of the scripture.
Whichever method you choose will surely bless you and help you have a deeper relationship with God.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 119:105
How to Start your Morning with Jesus
I could sit here and write line after line about how great scripture writing is. But I think it is more powerful for me to share my morning routine. Because sometimes you need to see an example of how to incorporate Jesus into your morning routine.
My morning routine with Jesus is during the weekday when I have to commute to work.
- Pray with my children for about 10 minutes during our car ride.
- Listen to gospel music.
- Listen to the Dear Bold Believer Podcast, every Monday I listen to the new episode. Each episode blesses me as if I didn’t record it.
- Scripture Write using a scripture topic plan or a specific bible book.
- Bible study using the S.O.A.P. method
- Listen to the audio bible, as I plan to read the bible in a year.
I pray that sharing my morning with Christ routine inspires you in your pursuit of God.
But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
Luke 11:28
