Week 2 Questions to answer in the comments:
- Do you have any bible study tips? If so, what are they?
- What verse stood out to you last week?
Day 8 Ephesians 2:11-22
And might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. Ephesians 2:16 ESV
PrayerDear Heavenly Father, thank you for shedding you blood so that i may be apart of Gods kingdom (v. 10). For making me equal to the Jews – Gods chosen people (v.12). For freeing me from the confines of my flesh. For guiding me with you Holy Spirit (v.18). For loving me enough to give your life despite my unworthiness. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Day 9 Ephesians 3
To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. Ephesians 3:8 ESV
ApplicationCan we just talk about the fact that Paul is writing this letter from jail. But instead of feeling sorry for himself or hiding in shame (v.13). He is writing to tell the Gentiles about God’s grace.
So many of us have a hard time finding or recognizing God’s grace during difficult, uncertainty, and let’s be honest during just ok times as well.
Everything about Paul in this verse just reminded me that in every situation you can find an example of God’s mercy, grace, and love.
Yes you will definitely find it hard to do at times. But if you push yourself to focus on God’s goodness overcoming turmoil will be easier.
Day 10 Ephesians 4
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.Ephesians 4:1 ESV
Observation
Jesus is calling all of us to serve the Kingdom of God with our gifts (v.7). Jesus doesn’t just want the Jews, whom were the promised people. But he also wants the Gentiles, whom were considered the worldly people (v. 4-6).
Jesus is for all of us. Jesus wanted to unite us all with love. Because he knew that we stand a better chance at growing God’s Kingdom with love and unity (v. 16).
Day 11 Ephesians 5
But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Ephesians 5:3 ESV
Anchor Word
Covetousness is to be greedy desire to have more, avarice. Pleonexia is the Greek word for covetousness.
Application
The definition of covetousness hit me like a ton of bricks. I have always been someone who strives for more.It may not always be the desire for more money or material items.
But as a career driven person I have always strives for a promotion, bigger platform, or so on. This verse really brought it full circle.
God wants to be enough. He wants me to know that he is my provider. He will promote me to where I am suppose to be.
Wanting more is a sin just as adultery is a sin. Being content and grateful for what you have right now is just as important as being a faithful wife or not committing murder.
Day 12 Ephesians 6
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Ephesians 6:11 ESV
Application
Put on the armor of God to overcome the schemes of Satan.
When I read that I was floored. Mind you I had read it before. But for some reason it hit me differently this time. Maybe it was because of what I was going through.
But when I read this in Priscilla Shirer Fervent, I realized that my battles, struggles, and hardship here on earth needed to be fought in heavenly places.
The light bulb finally went off in my head. I had been fighting my battles in the wrong places. Are you fighting a battle with a co-worker or friend that you actually need to let God fight?
Sometimes it takes hitting a wall to realize that you need to take it all to God. God changes things. You may be praying that he changes someone in your life but later find that God changed you.
Whatever struggle your going through don’t underestimate the power of Spiritual Warfare.
Day 13 Romans 1:1-15
Through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations. Romans 1:5 ESV
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father I pray that you will be all of your children. Help them to find refuge in on earth through fellowship with their worthy sister and brothers in Christ. Because we know that fellowship helps to strengthen our faith. And it is through our faith that we overcome the schemes of Satan. In Jesus name we pray Amen.
Day 14 Romans 1:16-32
Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. Romans 1:25 ESV
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for all those who have chosen to ignore you. Who have not acknowledge or thanked you for being an awesome God. I pray they find their way back to Elohiym. May the confess their sins and repent, so that they can return to your glorious Kingdom. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
