Decorating is a slow process for me. Not that it makes much of a difference, but I don’t like shelling out large sums of money at once. It’s just a mental block in my frugal mind that can’t tolerate it.
Now that we have our big piece of furniture – be sure to read my latest blog post on our quest for a Farmhouse Dressers – for our bedroom. The last missing piece is a headboard of some sort. I’ve looked at a lot of different options.
The decision wasn’t an easy one. We already have a bed frame so I was thinking an upholstered headboard would be a nice addition. I considered a diy but I didn’t think my hubby would be down for it. He’s never a believer in our diy abilities until the project is complete.
Not to mention baby Rose is pretty scared of loud sounds. We found that out recently while blending up homemade sweet potato puree for her. Needless to say, power tools are not ideal for us right now.
As you all know I love the farmhouse style. I considered barn doors, wreath, and wooden windows as a headboard instead of the upholstered look. But hanging things above the bed makes me nervous.
I’m always scared it will fall on my head. Which is also why Rose doesn’t have anything hanging near her crib, not even a mobile. Better safe than sorry, right.
Anyways, there are so many options when it comes to upholstered headboard. But I wanted to find a durable fabric that wouldn’t stain easily. Since I use oil in my hair, I didn’t want to constantly be worried about ruining the headboard.
Here are some of my favorite upholstered headboards. Can you guess which one is my favorite?
