#GrowingBabyRose: 21 Weeks

2018 seems to be the year of babies. I am surprised and elated to see how many people are expecting including my sister. I’m gone be an auntie again ya’ll. I must admit most days I am still in shock to be one of them. We have been keeping our pregnancy private and I won’t lie I was enjoying my beautiful little secret.

I figured it was finally time for me to share with you guys. Since she is literally bursting out my body saying hey world. Being pregnant is nothing like I expected. But it is truly the most beautiful thing in the world to be growing a little person inside of me. Most days I look at my baby bump and am truly convinced it’s not real #FirstTimeMom.

I won’t be flooding your timeline but I did want to share our pregnancy journey. Very few people know that we miscarried back in June. It was surely a difficult time but my heart has surely been mended by this second chance. I thank God everyday for the rainbow that comes after the storm. We are so thankful for our #RainbowBaby. Now let’s talk about my pregnancy thus far.

The cravings have probably been the craziest thing since being pregnant. I am happy I haven’t craved anything to odd or extremely unhealthy. But very early on I began to crave beef which is odd because I don’t eat beef and hadn’t in over 5 years. I still refuse to buy ground beef for our household but I figured the occasional burger while pregnant won’t kill me.

During the first trimester I was obsessed with drinking pickle juice, don’t ask why because I have no excuse or explanation. Then at the start of our second trimester I was eating sub sandwiches everyday, with heated deli meat of course. Happily my cravings have definitely subsided now, but you never know when they will seek revenge again.

All during my pregnancy I’ve been craving flavored drinks. Before I got pregnant I didn’t drank soda and barely drank tea. But now all I want is Chickfila Arnold Palmer and Fanta Orange soda. This is definitely one of the cravings I don’t give in to as much but I do give in when I have a burger craving. Everything in moderation right.

My husband and I have had this conversation over and over again about when is a good time to get pregnant. I will say we are definitely fortunate to have a planned pregnancy but after the miscarriage I think it became clear to both of us that a child at any time is a blessing. Especially with hearing so many stories of lost and infertility.

We’re just feeling blessed and favored to have a second chance at bringing life into this world. I’m so glad God choose us to be Sweet Baby Rose parents. We are so excited and beyond thankful for all the support we’ve received from our family and friends.

My sister and I had the same symptoms and she knew she was having a girl so I assumed we were too. Being first time parents we were so anxious to find out the sex of our little one. So we decided to visited an elective ultrasound clinic to find out the sex at 16 weeks. Just as I thought we are having a Little Princess.

Between the weight gain, the looks from strangers, and comments about how big I am. The realness of pregnancy most definitely hit home after our first trimester. Television will have you thinking it is all smiles, roses, and sunshine but child they lied. Or at least that’s not the case for me. I decided it would be best to share more about my pregnancy experience thus far on my Youtube Channel so stayed tuned (new videos every Thursday).

Telling our family the news was definitely the best part of this entire experience especially since they went through the miscarriage with us. They have been so supportive throughout this entire process and we’re so blessed to have each other. As for work, I am just now really getting my footing as a blogger so it has been difficult at times balancing.

But I definitely prioritize rest over working on my business. I’m fortunate to be such a planner because it gave me a lot of room to rest without my business suffering. Just now if I do get behind to be patient with me. But I do have a lot of new projects on the way and I’m looking forward to sharing them with you all.
