3 Reasons you Haven’t Started Working toward your Goals

I have served in many different roles and met a lot of different people along the way. Therefore, I’ve heard it all before when it comes to reasons for not getting started with your goals. Let me be clear your reasons for not getting started equals excuses. When you want something bad enough, you make time.

You make time to hang out with friend, buy that food your craving, watch that movie you’ve been dying to see, I think you get my point. When you’re working towards a goal every minute counts. If I were trying to lose weight, those 2 hours I spent at dinner with friends I (or we) could have gone to the gym. You make concessions not excuses for the things you want.

Your Scared

Because you have allowed self-doubt or the opinions of others to deter you from getting started towards your goals. You second guess your abilities to succeed at your goals because of those around you or your personal opinion of yourself. You’re scared to get started because you think theirs a possibility you won’t succeed or it will not come to fruition the way you envisioned.

Your Lazy

Let not sugar coat it. Most people don’t get started because they don’t want to put the work in. Most people want things to change but they don’t want to changes. They want there dreams to fulfill themselves. It is less than likely that you will admit your lazy.

Instead you will likely say you’re too busy, distracted with life, or don’t have the money. Sorry boo, but if those are your excuses your lazy. Plenty of Moms work, take care for their household, and still manage to work out to met there fitness goals. If you have kids those kids sleep. If you work the office does close. If your short on money get a side hustle. Ultimately, their is always a solution if you’re willing to put the work in.

Your Lost

You have ideas, but you’re not sure where to get started first. You’re excited but you are all over the place. You’re ready but you don’t know where to start or who to look to for advice.
The reality is no one can help you if you allow fear to cripple you or you’re lazy and unwilling to put in the work. But if you are lost and need help with creating an actionable plan then you are in luck because I can help. Need help getting started, check out the Action Workbook.

I think being scared and not knowing where to start are the two main reasons. You are definitely right though, there are ways to handle things and get a move on.

I'm way past the scared part. I was actually gaining momentum towards achieving my goal but the lazy bug hit me. I did slack in June! Hopefully I'll be back on track for July.

Being scared or lost are two biggies for me. I'm scared to start new things. Whether it is something I want or not. And when I have ideas, they are great but I don't know how to get kicked off

I think being scared is the biggest one for most people. We'll say we're just lazy, but deep down is that we're scared we wont reach our goals, and we're trying to make excuses. I say we, because I know everyone does it!
