Dream Big and Be Bold: The Journey to Happiness

I want to be happy. I know that statement may sound like a simple and obvious request. But in all honesty happiness as I define it and happiness as you define it are probably completely different, and that is to be expected. Happiness for me means being an Independent Entrepreneur who inspires and help others achieve happiness (in whatever reality that maybe).

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.” – Denis Waitley

Happiness is living every day to the fullest; because there is no room for regrets. I know I sound like a broken record, and if I don’t at this moment believe me I will. I will be your constant reminder that whatever happiness looks like for you, you can obtain it today. You don’t need to wait until tomorrow to be happy because for so many people tomorrow may never come.

There are so many reasons I wanted to start this blog. There are so many reasons I didn’t want to launch this blog. After achieving two degrees and having endured 2 years in the corporate workplace my passion for life became clear finally and I realized my happiness did not include a 9-5 or the use of my degrees (thank you student loans). This epiphany led to the launch of this blog and so I’ve started today (which is actually the past since it took a long time for me to get the guts to launch this blog). I found my own freedom in the discovery that regardless of my student loans, 9-5, and other obligations. It is never too late to pursue your dreams.

I have never been the best writer in the world, but I have always loved writing since I was a little girl. I would write poetry, songs, journal entries, fictional stories, etc. But being a little girl from Compton that didn’t even have textbooks growing up, my grammar and vocabulary never really seemed to be where it should be (whatever that means). So for a long time, I let that be a deterrent and it kept me from doing what I enjoyed and loved. I finally decided I had something to say and I wasn’t going to let anything stop me from writing (isn’t that what spell check and friends are for anyways). My writing may never be error free but my story, my perspective, and my passion are genuine and worth sharing.

“Whatever your dream is I want you to commit to making one step towards it every day, know that no step is too small.” – Chell Bee

So today I want you to commit to stopping watching other people be happy and live their dream. Instead, I want you to start living your dream. Maybe you want to be a singer. I know you may not be able to sign a record deal today, but you can sing a beautiful song and post it on SoundCloud or YouTube. The point is, whatever your dream is, I want you to commit to making one step towards it every day, know that no step is too small. Most of all, know that it is ok if your dreams of today change tomorrow.

Preach! Exactly happiness is not a goal, its a journey. Just taking a few steps towards your goals a day, can change life. Can wait to see what you accomplish!

I love this! So many people believe that happiness is a destination, it is not, it is a journey! I work towards my goal every single day and that brings me so much joy.
